The HOPE PROGRAM is a holistic multi-disciplinary community upgrade project seeks to improve the quality of life of rural women, children and families by positively impacting on their lives.
Our focus is a healthy functional family life which is a national priority. We are committed to promoting family well being. We empower people to build, reconstruct and maintain sound relationships, in the family, in marriage and in the communities.
The program is rolled out in the JTG district, from the Famsa Kathu and Famsa Kuruman office.
The programmes focus areas are:
- ADVOCACY AND AWARENESS for ex. On 16 days of no violence against women and children, Women’s day
- EDUCATION AND TRAINING (Especially on STI’s which include HIV/AIDS, Substance abuse which include FAS, TB)
- COUNSELLING SERVICES (marriage, individual, divorce)
- CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMMES like the value programme, parenting skills programmes, anti – bullying and anti – violence programmes.
We make use of the following methods: Door to door visits, info sessions, support groups, campaigns, wellness days and workshops.
The Child and Youth Care Workers will be the key role players in the community, taking the services into the homes of the people. We work closely with other stakeholders such as DSD, SAPS and other NGO”s like Love life.
